The Revenant

In an expedition of the unexplored American wilderness, Hugh Glass (Leonardo DiCaprio) is brutally attacked by a bear and left for dead by members of his own hunting team. In a bid to survive, Glass goes to hell and back to avenge his betrayal from a member of his own team John Fitzgerald (Tom Hardy).

Creed

When Adonis Creed (Michael B. Jordan), the son of Apollo, arrives in Philly he seeks out former World Champion, and his father's friend, Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone) so that the great man himself can train him to become a professional fighter. Interestingly, this is the first time the British have featured in the Rocky franchise (perhaps it's something to do with the rise of British boxing talent) and Creed's opponent is Scouser "Pretty" Ricky Conlan (Tony Bellew) who is yet to be defeated.

The Hateful Eight

Set sometime of the American Civil War, John Ruth (Kurt Russell) is transporting Daisy Domergue (Jennifer Jason Leigh) to Red Rock to be hung and along the way they pick up Major Marquis Warren (Samuel L. Jackson) and Sheriff Chris Mannix (Walton Goggins)but a heavy snow storm halts their progress, so they stop off at Minnie's haberdashery where stuff starts to get serious.

Named after the Malian city Timbuku, the city that once was the centre of intercontinental communication and trade, the film of the same name is part based on true story and part fictional story about a settlement in Mali forced to adapt to strict Sharia law.
