This is a list of films that I have seen that were released in cinemas (or straight to DVD) in 2013. Here you can judge my taste in films and ponder why I rated The Lone Ranger the same The Great Gatsby. The way I decide a film is from 2013 is as follows: The film must have been released in either American or British cinemas in the year 2013. For example, 12 Years A Slave was released in American cinemas on November 1st whilst British native will have to wait until the 21st of January 2014 to see 12 Years a Slave in the cinema....
12 Years a Slave is a 2013 film because it will win the Oscar for best picture in 2014 for the year 2013. The Japanese film I Wish was produced in 2011, but released in British cinemas in 2013 making it a 2013 film and The Guardian have it their top films of 2013. Note that films must be a nationwide/worldwide release I.E not at some festival, so the Danish drama The Hunt becomes a 2013 film by my rules as it was almost impossible for me to see the film during 2012. I think. Oh, I don't know anymore...
