Thursday Movie Picks #103: High School Reunions

I've missed the last two weeks because I've been religiously watching UEFA Euro 2016, which is like the FIFA Football World Cup but for European teams. It's been pretty good, Iceland have done remarkably well and England beat Wales in the last minute, which shut up my Welsh colleagues. I was really smug about it until Wales got further than England after progressing to the quarter finals. England, meanwhile, were beaten by Iceland. This marked the second time we embarrassed our selves on the European Stage in less than a week

But this week I’m back and the theme for this week is high school reunions. Make sure to check out - http://wanderingthroughtheshelves.blogspot.co.uk/

Alice Through the Looking Glass

Following her recent trip to Underland to avoid marrying a repulsive odious man, Alice (Mia Wasikowsk) is now a captain of the ship, sailing the sea, dodging pirates and bring riches to the shores of England. Upon arrival back in England, after three years of traveling, she learns that her ex-fiancĂ©, Hanish Ascot, has taken over her father’s business and demands her father’s ship in return for her family home. In a bid to avoid signing the deal, Alice escapes to Underland through a mirror (running away from her problems…again).

There she learns that The Mad Hatter (Johnny Depp) is very ill and convinced that his parents are still alive. Nobody believes him, not even Alice. The only way to be sure is to go back him time and find out what happened, only Time (Sasha baron Cohen) himself can help Alice do this.

Meanwhile, Pornstar Misty Mountains (Murielle Telio) crashes spectacularly into a house, an obvious case of driver error. However, when Holland March (Ryan Gosling) is approached by a client claiming to have seen her niece, the very same Misty Mountains, he gets mixed up that may drag into a dangerous underworld. A tip off leads Holland to Amelia Kutner (Margaret Qualley), a protester campaigning against the Detroit car makers. Scream - Season One

I admit that TV is not something I watch frequently as there's plenty of incredibly popular programmes I have yet see of which include House of Cards, Breaking Bad and anything Marvel (except for one episode of Jessica Jones). That said, however, as a horror fan and a fan of the Scream franchise I did check out the TV series of Scream. With the new series about to start, I thought I'd review the first series.

Bo66y

At the time of writing this it is two months until the 30th July 2016, marking the day that it's 50 years, to the very day, that England won it's first and only FIFA World Cup. It's a fitting time to release such a film with the so mentioned and the European Championships starting in less than a weeks time. Football fans have been treated this season with Leicester defying the odds and winning the Premier League in what is arguably the greatest sporting achievement of all time and they'll be treated once again with this touching documentary on England's greatest defender.
