Thursday Movie Picks #237: Movies You Walked Out On

This week’s theme comes from the mind of Brittani Burham from Rambling Film which, contrary to the name of her blog, is full of concise film reviews (among other stuff) that is certainly worth checking out.

This week’s theme is movies you have walked out of. As I’ve only ever walked out of one movie (I’m getting my bloody money’s worth) I will populate this list with movies I didn’t finish (and never will).

Also make sure to check out http://wanderingthroughtheshelves.blogspot.com/ as without him/her we'd never even have this blogging meme.
The only movie I ever walked out on was The Unborn not because it was bad but because the girl I went with left halfway through the film as her mum was calling her. I wasn’t going to stay in the cinema by myself, so I promptly left shortly after. If this was a date, it was my first. Not a great start to my dating life but it did set a trend that would plague me for my whole life.

Anyway, I saw this film years later. It was shit.
There’s one scene in this rancid movie that films a rape scene like an erotic porn film. The worst thing is that it goes on for well over 5 minutes. Not for me. Turned it off at this point as I was already bored out of my skull. Now I’m bored and annoyed (my two least favourite feelings). I think I’ll stay away from Jean Rollin movies.
Talking of bored and annoyed I distinctly remember Zach Synder filming a child abuse scene in slow motion with rock music accompanying it. Maybe I am not remembering this right as it was years and years ago, but all I know is I didn’t finish this.

Dishonourable Mentions
  1. Wolverine (the one set in Japan) – boring
  2. Beowulf & Grendel – 8-year-old with a beard
  3. Slenderman – Couldn’t survive another 10 minutes.
  4. The House (2017) - I had better things to do....like watch a better movie.
  5. Pearl Harbour - This is THREE hours long
There’s probably loads more, but clearly, I have had them wiped from my memory as never having seen them.

  1. I've only seen Sucker Punch from your list, and it was years ago! Such a WTF movie for me. I stuck it out till the end but I don't think I understood any of it.

  2. I've only seen Sucker Punch and man that movie struggled. I rarely walk out of movies but the ones I did I didn't pay for myself so that probably helped lol

Thank you for the nice words on my blog!

  3. What do you mean *if* that was a date? And what trend has plagued your life?

    I've only seen these movies:
-THE WOLVERINE; SUCKER PUNCH - 5/10
    -PEARL HARBOR - 3/10
    -SLENDERMAN; THE HOUSE - 1/10

Among the others, I've only heard of THE UNBORN. I remembered times where it was on TV and I considered watching it out of morbid curiousity, but I never got around to it. Partly because, while it's considered bad, it's not a true anti-classic.

A lot of these movies have been reviewed by The Nostalgia Critic and CinemaSins. It's a way to see what you missed without actually watching the movies.

    1. I mean my dating life is terrible. True, but I've gone off CinemaSins as their videos are too long.

  4. I have not seen any of these but I think that one dir tor gets off on porn and the other is a creep to film a child abuse scene in this matter. Pearl Harbour is boring as F#)@/.

  5. I've seen both the Unborn and Sucker Punch.

I don't remember much about the Unborn other than it was pretty dumb.
